The brief
Field Notes publishes long-form travel writing twice a year. They wanted a type family that felt handmade but still worked on screens.
What we made
We drew a serif with two widths and a set of hand-cut ornaments, then designed templates the editors can use without a designer in the room.
The journal now publishes in print, online and as a weekly newsletter using the same system.
